Dhaka, Sept 12 (V7N) – Dengue continues to claim lives across Bangladesh, with six more deaths reported in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). During the same period, 586 new patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide.
The DGHS daily bulletin on Thursday confirmed that three deaths occurred in Dhaka South City Corporation, while Dhaka North City Corporation, Mymensingh, and Rajshahi divisions each reported one fatality.
Hospital admissions remain highest in Dhaka North City Corporation, where 144 new patients were registered within 24 hours.
Since January 1, a total of 145 people have died from dengue nationwide. Dhaka South City Corporation recorded the highest number of deaths with 74, followed by Chattogram division with 21, Barishal division with 19, Dhaka North City Corporation with 13, Rajshahi division with 7, Khulna division with 5, Mymensingh division with 4, and Dhaka division with 2.
Health authorities continue to urge residents to remain cautious, particularly in high-risk urban areas, as the outbreak shows no signs of slowing down.
