DHAKA, June 09 (V7N) – Bangladesh has reported 28 new dengue patients admitted to various hospitals across the country in the 24 hours leading up to this morning. This brings the total number of dengue cases recorded this year to 4,977, with 23 fatalities reported from the mosquito-borne disease.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the newly admitted patients, 10 were hospitalized in Chattogram, six in Dhaka division, two in Dhaka North, and 10 in different hospitals in Dhaka South.

In the same 24-hour period, 30 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals nationwide.

The DGHS statement also provided a comparison to the previous year, noting that in 2024, the total number of dengue cases reached 101,214, with a tragic 575 deaths reported from the disease.
