Sylhet, Nov 07 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Governing Council has finalized the names of five franchises for the upcoming 2025–26 season, confirming significant rebranding for several teams, including a new identity for Sylhet as the “Sylhet Titans.”

According to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), the 12th edition of the BPL is scheduled to run from December 19, 2025, to January 16, 2026. The proposed schedule was crafted considering the international T20 World Cup calendar.

BPL Governing Council Member Secretary Ifthekhar Rahman Mithu stated that the names were finalized after detailed discussions with all franchise owners. While Rangpur Riders and Dhaka Capitals will retain their existing names, three franchises — Chattogram, Rajshahi, and Sylhet — will enter the new season with fresh titles and branding.

Chattogram will compete as “Chittagong Royals,” Rajshahi as “Rajshahi Warriors,” and Sylhet as “Sylhet Titans.” The new team ownership distribution has also been finalized following recent changes. Rangpur Riders will be owned by Toggi Sports (Bashundhara Group), Dhaka Capitals by Champion Sports (Remark-Harlen), Chattogram Royals by Triangle Service, Rajshahi Warriors by Nabil Group, and Sylhet Titans by Cricket With Sami.

With these transformations, the BPL 2025–26 season promises an exciting mix of legacy and fresh energy as new franchises prepare to make their mark on Bangladesh’s premier T20 tournament.
