Sharjah, May 17 (V7N) – Bangladesh kicked off their T20I campaign in 2025 with a commanding 27-run victory over the United Arab Emirates in the first match of a two-game series held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday (May 17).

Stand-in captain Liton Das led the side as Parvez Hossain Emon stole the spotlight with a brilliant century that powered Bangladesh to a strong total of 191 for 7 in 20 overs. Emon’s aggressive batting display laid the foundation for what turned out to be a winning total for the Tigers.

In reply, the UAE put up a spirited fight but were eventually bundled out for 164 runs, falling short by 27 runs.

With this win, Bangladesh now leads the series 1-0, with one more match to play.
