Tehran, Nov 03 (V7N)- Iran has warned that any fresh military aggression by the United States would trigger a response far more severe and extensive than previous retaliatory actions, raising concerns over a possible escalation of tensions in the Middle East.

The Iranian military has cautioned that the consequences of a new conflict would not remain confined to West Asia but could extend beyond the region, according to a report by the semi-official Mehr News Agency.

Mohammad Akraminia, spokesperson for the Iranian military, said Washington would face a much stronger and wider response if it launched further military operations against Iran.

He warned that any new war could have a geographical impact extending far beyond the Middle East.

Akraminia also revealed that Iran's armed forces were updating their list of potential enemy targets in preparation for a possible confrontation.

He said US facilities, military equipment, personnel and other interests within Iran's operational reach could be targeted in the event of another conflict.

Meanwhile, the Iranian military spokesperson alleged that efforts had been made to establish a new land-based front along the country's western border.

According to Akraminia, the alleged plan involved supplying weapons and military equipment to anti-government groups based in the semi-autonomous Kurdish region of northern Iraq.

He claimed that Iranian military deployments and preemptive operations against the positions of those groups had thwarted the alleged plan.

Akraminia further stated that Iran's armed forces remained on high alert to respond to potential security threats and were continuing preparations to counter hostile military activities.

The latest warning comes amid heightened tensions between Tehran and Washington, with the possibility of renewed military confrontation raising concerns about wider regional instability.
