Washington, Feb 4 (V7N) — The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has removed thousands of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein from its official website following allegations that the files exposed the identities of victims, the BBC reported.

The documents, released on January 30, reportedly included nude photographs and email addresses of victims without proper redaction, putting approximately 100 individuals at risk. The Justice Department acknowledged the error and removed the files in response to concerns.

In a statement, several victims described the leak as humiliating, with some reporting threats to their lives. One victim reportedly received death threats following the publication.

The incident has drawn criticism from women’s rights activists, who condemned the US authorities for the grave oversight and called for stronger protections for survivors of sexual abuse.
