Gaza, Aug 25 (V7N) — At least 24 Palestinians were killed in a single day while attempting to access humanitarian aid in Gaza, according to a Monday report by Al Jazeera. Simultaneously, Israeli military strikes claimed the lives of 51 additional Palestinians across the enclave. Separately, eight civilians died from starvation and malnutrition, reflecting the severity of the humanitarian collapse.
Since the Israeli military began its offensive in Gaza City on August 6, over 1,000 buildings in the Zeitoun and Sabra neighborhoods have been completely destroyed, the Palestinian Civil Defence reports. Rescuers warn that hundreds remain trapped under the rubble, and relief operations are increasingly hampered by persistent shelling and blocked access routes.
Field teams are overwhelmed by urgent reports of missing persons, yet rescue efforts remain stalled. Hospitals are facing extreme patient pressure, struggling to treat rising numbers of wounded and sick without adequate resources.
There is mounting alarm that no area in Gaza is safe—residential neighborhoods, shelters, and even aid camps are being bombed. In a significant escalation, Israeli tanks have entered Sabra, pushing nearly one million residents southward. Civil Defence officials and rights groups warn that Israel’s campaign resembles its previous destruction of Rafah, raising fears it aims to displace the entire population of Gaza.
In Al-Jalaa Street, a residential apartment was struck, killing at least three people—including a child—as per emergency medical sources in Gaza City.
Overall, 51 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks on Sunday: 27 in Gaza City, and 24 while waiting for relief supplies. The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed eight starvation-related deaths, bringing the number to 289 since the war began—115 of them children.
These staggering figures underscore the dire humanitarian situation—aid access is effectively blocked, hunger is being weaponized, and civilian survival remains under unprecedented threat.
