Rangamati, Aug 20 (V7N) – Leaders and activists of the Rangamati district unit of the Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal held a vibrant rally to celebrate the organization’s 45th founding anniversary in Rangamati town. The rally commenced on Tuesday afternoon from the Rangamati Court Building and proceeded along the Rangamati-Chattogram road, concluding at the party office where a discussion session was held.
The event’s chief guest was Dipen Dewan, former Senior Joint District Judge and Assistant Secretary for Religious Affairs of the BNP’s National Executive Committee.
Special guests included former Member of Parliament and State Minister Moniswapon Dewan, Rangamati BNP President Dipen Talukder, General Secretary Advocate Mamunur Rashid Mamun, and Organizational Secretary Saiful Islam Shakil.
The program was presided over by Jahangir Alam Talukder, convener of the Rangamati district Swechchhasebak Dal, with member secretary Md. Abu Naser serving as master of ceremonies. Senior joint convener Belal Hossain Saku delivered the welcome address.
In his speech, Dipen Dewan confirmed that the national parliamentary election is scheduled for February 2026. He noted that BNP’s acting chairman, Tarique Rahman, is widely regarded as the rightful successor of the late President Ziaur Rahman’s ideals and political philosophy, and is viewed as a capable future leader of the country.
He added that the public expects Tarique Rahman to play a crucial role in restoring democracy and safeguarding national interests. With the BNP’s anticipated success in the upcoming election, Dewan expressed hope that Tarique Rahman’s leadership will bring political stability to Bangladesh.
Dipen Dewan further stated that if entrusted with governance, Tarique Rahman could implement effective policies to improve the national economy, education, and employment sectors, combat corruption, and elevate Bangladesh’s standing on the global stage.
Calling for unity ahead of the election, Dewan urged party members to put aside differences and strengthen the organization both structurally and functionally. He emphasized that resolving internal conflicts and working together to meet public expectations is essential. Dewan also stressed the need to restore discipline and transform the party into a dynamic, people-centered organization in preparation for the forthcoming election.
