Dhaka, Aug 18 (V7N) – Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir has unveiled a full panel of 28 members to contest the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections. Sadiq Kayem will run for the Vice-President (VP) post, while SM Farhad will contest for General Secretary (GS).

The announcement was made by Shibir’s central general secretary Nurul Islam Saddam during a briefing at DU’s Sir Nawab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on Monday, the final day for submitting nomination papers.

Shibir’s key candidates for DUCSU 2025:

  • Vice-President (VP): Sadiq Kayem (Central Publication Secretary of Shibir and former President of DU branch)

  • General Secretary (GS): SM Farhad (DU Shibir President)

  • Associate General Secretary: Mohiuddin Khan (DU Shibir General Secretary)

  • Liberation War and Democratic Movement Affairs Secretary: Fatima Tasneem Juma (Inqilab Manch)

  • Science and Technology Secretary: Iqbal Haider

  • Common Room, Reading Room and Cafeteria Secretary: Umme Salma

  • International Affairs Secretary: Khan Jasim (Student who lost his eyes in the July Movement)

  • Literature and Cultural Secretary: Nurul Islam Sabbir (DU Shibir Finance Secretary)

  • Sports Secretary: Arman Hossain

  • Student Transport Secretary: Asif Abdullah

  • Social Services Secretary: Shariful Islam Muaz

  • Research and Publications Secretary: Sajjad Hossain Khan

  • Career Development Editor: Mazharul Islam

  • Health and Environment Editor: Abdullah Al Minhaj

  • Human Rights and Legal Affairs Editor: Sakhawat Zakaria

Shibir has also fielded candidates for 13 additional member positions, though their names were not disclosed at the press conference.
