Dhaka, Jun 09 (V7N) – Australia captain Josh Inglis won the toss and elected to field first against Bangladesh in the opening match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.
The match began at 11:00 a.m., marking the start of Bangladesh’s first ODI series against Australia in nearly 15 years, with the two sides last meeting in a bilateral ODI series in 2011.
Bangladesh made several notable selections for the series opener, including the return of Mosaddek Hossain Saikat to the ODI playing XI after almost four years. The hosts opted for a pace-heavy attack featuring Taskin Ahmed, Mostafizur Rahman and Nahid Rana, while leg-spinner Rishad Hossain was left out of the lineup.
Tanjid Hasan and Saif Hasan were named as the opening pair, with captain Mehedi Hasan Miraz leading the side.
