Salzburg, Aug. 2 (V7N) – Jose Mourinho's second spell as Real Madrid head coach began with a draw as the Spanish giants surrendered a two-goal lead to finish 2-2 against Italian side Fiorentina in a pre-season friendly in Austria.
Real Madrid made an impressive start, dominating possession and creating early chances. Brazilian forward Andrić put the 15-time UEFA Champions League winners ahead in the 12th minute before Alexis Seria doubled the lead after converting a long pass from Eduardo Camavinga, giving Los Blancos a 2-0 advantage at the break.
Fiorentina responded strongly in the second half. Roberto Pisoli reduced the deficit before Italy international Moise Kean scored the equaliser, completing the comeback and ensuring the match ended 2-2.
Mourinho included eight first-team players in his starting lineup for his first match since returning to the Santiago Bernabéu.
Andrić, who recently returned from a loan spell at French club Lyon, impressed by finding the back of the net, while new signing Carlos Espy made his debut after coming on as a second-half substitute.
Defender Denzel Dumfries, who recently signed a new contract with Real Madrid, featured for 75 minutes as the team continued preparations for the upcoming season.
