Aug 02 (v7n) - A nationwide Artificial Intelligence (AI) training programme has been launched under the Department of Youth Development's project "Skills Development of IT-Knowledgeable Youth through Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology," aimed at equipping young Bangladeshis with future-ready skills.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Aminul Hoque inaugurated the programme at the Mom Inn Auditorium in Bogura, with State Minister for Local Government Mir Shah Alam, State Minister for Public Administration Md. Abdul Bari, and local MPs in attendance. Around 2,000 trainees, project officials, and coordinators from various districts joined the event virtually.
Speaking at the inauguration, Aminul Hoque called on young people to acquire and apply AI skills for employment, noting that the government is preparing youth for technology-driven workplaces. He also mentioned plans to build 10 international-standard sports villages across the country, including in Bogura.
Mir Shah Alam said technology-based skills development would expand local employment opportunities, while Md. Abdul Bari stressed the importance of regular participation to achieve the desired outcomes.
Masud Alam, Managing Director of e-Learning and Earning Limited, said the project is designed to provide trainees with access to modern AI tools, enabling them to meet the demands of both domestic and international job markets.
Youth and Sports Secretary Mahbub-ul-Alam presided over the event.
In the first phase, 1,600 trainees—25 from each of the 64 districts—have been enrolled. Training will be delivered in 448 batches of 25 participants each, with each two-month course comprising 50 classes totaling 300 hours of instruction.
Several MPs, including Rezaul Karim Badsha, Mosharraf Hossain, Abdul Muhit Talukdar, and Suraiya Zerin Rony, attended the programme.
At the event, laptops were distributed to eight top-earning freelancers at the divisional level, and 24 freelancers from Rajshahi Division were presented with honorary crests.
