Rajshahi, July 24 (V7N) — The newly appointed Managing Director (MD) of Rajshahi Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA), Mohammad Harun-or-Rashid (Joint Secretary), paid a courtesy visit to Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton on Thursday.
The meeting was held at 11:00 am at the administrator’s office in the Nagar Bhaban, where the RCC administrator welcomed the WASA managing director with a bouquet.
During the meeting, they exchanged views on various important issues, including the development of Rajshahi city, improving the quality of citizen services, and strengthening coordination between the two organisations.
The WASA managing director praised the development initiatives undertaken by Rajshahi City Corporation to build a clean, green, and planned city. He also sought the RCC administrator’s cooperation in further improving the quality of WASA services.
RCC Administrator Md. Mahfuzur Rahman Riton said, “Our main goal is to ensure the best possible services reach the people’s doorsteps. All concerned organisations must work together in a coordinated manner for the development of Rajshahi and the welfare of its residents.”
He assured that Rajshahi City Corporation would provide necessary support and cooperation for the effective implementation of WASA’s activities.
The meeting also emphasised enhancing existing coordination and cooperation between RCC and Rajshahi WASA to improve citizen services, ensure sustainable urban development, and accelerate public welfare-oriented initiatives.
Among others, RCC Chief Executive Officer Md. Rezaul Karim, Secretary Md. Sohel Rana, Special Metropolitan Magistrate (Joint District and Sessions Judge) Md. Faisal Tarek, Executive Magistrate Nazmul Alam, Superintending Engineers Khairul Baker and Ahmad Al Moin Parag, Chief Revenue Officer Abu Saleh Md. Nur-E-Sayeed, Budget and Accounts Officer Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan, and Executive Engineers Mahmudur Rahman and Nilufar Yasmin were present at the meeting.
