NETROKONA, June 12, (V7N) – Trinamool BNP leaders and activists of Kharnai Union BNP have claimed that Gedu Mia, the recently expelled president of Kharnai Union BNP in Kalmakanda Upazila, was expelled in a conspiratorial manner. Local residents are angry over the framing of several children and teenagers, including Hridoy Mia, son of Gedu Mia, in a false drug case.

Gedu Mia's supporters claim he is a loyal BNP worker who has been a victim of various false political cases and harassment in the past. They allege that his neighbor Shafiqul Islam, who had been out of the area for several years due to controversial activities, recently brought a consignment of liquor to his house and systematically framed several children, including Gedu Mia's son Hridoy, in a false case out of jealousy over Gedu Mia's popularity.

Gedu Mia stated that Shafiqul Islam is guilty of various crimes, including embezzlement, motorcycle theft, and drug smuggling. He claimed that after Shafiqul was found guilty of theft in court, locals gave him a severance package, but he became angry when locals appeared in court regarding the matter. Gedu Mia alleged that Shafiqul then brought liquor to his sister's house and strategically framed the children, leading to his own expulsion from the party post.

Shafiqul Islam's sister Hafsa Begum said she found a sack of liquor bottles in her brother's abandoned house, brought it to her house, and submerged it in a pond. She informed Shafiqul, who sent the police. When police arrived, local children and teenagers gathered, and police arrested some of them. She claimed she does not know who originally brought the liquor shipment.
