Cox’s Bazar District BNP President and former MP Alhaj Shahjahan Chowdhury addresses a rally marking the 47th founding anniversary of Jubo Dal at Teknaf municipal bus station on Wednesday afternoon.
Teknaf, Oct 29 (V7N) — The Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, youth wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), organized a rally in Teknaf upazila on Wednesday afternoon to mark the 47th founding anniversary of the organization. The event took place at the Teknaf municipal bus station at around 3 p.m.
The rally was presided over by Upazila Jubo Dal Convener Md. Kaiyum and conducted by Teknaf Municipal BNP Joint General Secretary Abdus Salam. Cox’s Bazar District BNP President and former Member of Parliament Alhaj Shahjahan Chowdhury attended as the chief guest.
In his speech, Shahjahan Chowdhury said the BNP has always been the party of the people, contributing significantly to the nation’s development. He announced that under a future BNP government, unemployed youth would receive financial assistance until they find jobs. He also pledged to transform Teknaf into a “mega city and tourist-friendly town.”
Referring to the upcoming national election expected in February, Shahjahan urged the Jubo Dal to immediately start campaigning for votes in favor of the BNP’s electoral symbol, the Sheaf of Paddy. He added that most of Teknaf’s major infrastructure, including ports, roads, schools, and colleges, were built during BNP’s tenure. In contrast, he alleged, the ruling party has been engaged in corruption for the past 17 years, destroying legitimate employment opportunities. “If we return to power, we will work to restore Teknaf’s reputation and reopen the Naf River to ease the suffering of local fishermen, Inshallah,” he said.
The event’s keynote speaker was Cox’s Bazar District Jubo Dal President Syed Ahmad Uzzal. Special guests included District Jubo Dal General Secretary Jisan Uddin Jisan, Organizing Secretary Amir Ali, Teknaf Upazila BNP President Advocate Hasan Siddique, Municipal BNP President Abdur Razzak, Upazila BNP General Secretary Shahadat Hossain, and Senior Joint General Secretary Md. Ali Chairman, among others.
Leaders from various BNP affiliates—including the Jubo Dal, Swechchhasebak Dal, Sramik Dal, and Chhatra Dal—also attended. Among the speakers were Municipal Jubo Dal Convener Abdul Shukkur, Member Secretary Md. Ayub, Upazila Jubo Dal Joint Conveners Moktar Hossain Bappi, Giyas Uddin, Nurul Huda, and Rahmat Ullah Rana, as well as leaders from the volunteer, workers, and student wings.
Speakers at the rally called for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia’s health and urged nationwide unity to restore democracy in Bangladesh.
