Rawalpindi, Oct 23 (V7N) — South Africa defeated Pakistan by 8 wickets in the second Test in Rawalpindi, securing their first Test win on Pakistani soil since 2007.
Pakistan resumed their second innings on the third day at 94 for 4, but collapsed to 138 all out, losing their last 6 wickets for just 44 runs in 14.3 overs. South Africa needed only 68 runs to seal the victory and achieved it comfortably, losing just 2 wickets.
With this result, the two-match series ended 1-1, after Pakistan won the first Test.
Keshav Maharaj was named Man of the Match for his 9 wickets in the game, while Senuran Muthusamy earned Man of the Series honors.
This historic win marks the Proteas’ first Test triumph in Pakistan in 18 years, following their previous victory in 2007.
