Narsingdi, Oct 29 (V7N)- BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has warned that the next national election will not be smooth, saying, “Many thorny paths will have to be crossed.”
He made the remarks while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of BNP's new member recruitment and renewal program held at the Heritage Resort on Wednesday (October 29) afternoon.
Rizvi highlighted the struggles faced by party leaders, stating that Begum Khaleda Zia endured imprisonment and denial of medical treatment for the sake of the election. He alleged that Sheikh Hasina has destroyed the country’s democracy, while Tarique Rahman has mobilized the nation in line with the family’s tradition, leading to a mass uprising that forced Sheikh Hasina to flee the country.
He further claimed that despite being abroad, Sheikh Hasina is allegedly conspiring to prevent the election, and accused a political party of attempting to “fish in troubled waters” amid the 24th movement.
The event was presided over by BNP Joint Secretary General and Narsingdi District BNP President Khairul Kabir Khokon, and attended by BNP Central Committee Organizing Secretary Kazi Saidul Alam Babul, Co-Organizing Secretary Nazrul Islam Azad, Freedom Fighters Affairs Secretary Joynal Abedin, and Volunteers Affairs Co-Organizing Secretary Abdul Qadir Bhuiyan Jewel, among others.
