Jessore, Mar 06 (V7N) — The Upazila administration conducted raids on several fuel filling stations in Bagharpara Upazila on Friday night to prevent the creation of an artificial shortage of fuel oil.
According to officials, the operation targeted multiple oil pumps in the area as part of efforts to monitor fuel sales and ensure compliance with government directives.
During the drive, one filling station was fined Tk 10,000 for failing to properly maintain oil account records and register books, authorities said.
The administration stated that the raids were carried out at night to discourage pump owners from hoarding fuel or manipulating supply in the market.
Officials also warned that regular monitoring drives will continue to ensure that fuel is sold at the correct price and to prevent any irregularities in the distribution system.
