Dhaka, Oct 06 (V7N) – The International Crimes Tribunal-2 will deliver its order today (Monday) on whether to take cognizance of the charges filed against Awami League leader Mahbubul Alam Hanif and four others in a case over crimes against humanity and the killing of six people in Kushtia during the July movement.

Following Sunday’s hearing, the tribunal fixed today for pronouncing the order. All four accused in the case are reportedly absconding, and the prosecution has applied for arrest warrants against them once the charges are formally accepted.

Meanwhile, at the International Crimes Tribunal-1, the final examination of witnesses against three individuals, including Sheikh Hasina, in another case related to crimes against humanity, will be held today. So far, 54 witnesses—including eyewitnesses, victims, doctors, and law enforcement members—have testified in the case.

The Kushtia case stems from the killing of six people and the injury of several others amid the July-August movement. Two separate cases were filed against five accused, including Hasanul Haque Inu and Mahbubul Alam Hanif, over the incident. The tribunal’s investigation agency later submitted its final report after completing the inquiry.

In another development, the ninth day of testimony in the murder case of Abu Sayeed, the first martyr of the July Movement, will also be held today at Tribunal-2.
