Dhaka, June 15 (V7N) — Job seekers who were eliminated from the 18th Teacher Registration Examination oral test have demanded a review of the recently published results. On Sunday morning, they staged a sit-in protest in front of the Private Teachers Registration and Certification Authority (NTRCA) office on Eskaton Garden Road in the capital.
The aggrieved candidates alleged that nearly 23,000 viva participants were unfairly deprived of success. “Many of us answered all the questions correctly but were still marked as failed,” one protester claimed, expressing frustration over what they called “discrimination and oppression.”
They further alleged that some officials within the NTRCA are aligned with the previous "fascist government" and suggested that the mass disqualification was intended to embarrass the current administration.
Calling for the cancellation of the “discriminatory results,” the protesters demanded an immediate review of the viva examination. They announced that the sit-in demonstration would continue in front of the NTRCA office until their demands are addressed.
It is worth noting that the NTRCA published the results of the 18th Teacher Registration Examination on June 4. Out of 81,209 candidates who participated in the oral examination, 60,521 were declared successful, while approximately 20,000 were left out.
