Dhaka, Nov 05 (V7N)- Tension continued in industrial areas around the capital on Thursday following unrest among garment workers, prompting law enforcement agencies to remain on high alert to prevent further clashes or possible sabotage.
Workers from various garment factories began heading to their workplaces early in the morning amid anxiety and uncertainty. Many remained concerned about returning after clashes on Wednesday, but continued to report for duty to protect their livelihoods.
Workers were seen moving along roads across several industrial areas from the morning, while production activities resumed at some factories.
Meanwhile, law enforcement personnel maintained a strong presence at key points in the industrial zones. Surveillance around factories was also increased as authorities sought to prevent further unrest.
Factory authorities and other concerned parties were reportedly taking precautions to avoid fresh tensions or dissatisfaction among workers.
