Munshiganj, Dec 27 (V7N) — At least 10 people were injured when a passenger bus collided with a truck on the Dhaka–Mawa Expressway in Munshiganj’s Srinagar upazila early Saturday, officials said.
The accident occurred around 1:15 am in the Chhanbari area when dense fog severely reduced visibility, causing the bus driver to lose control and crash into the truck, according to emergency responders.
Rescue teams from the Srinagar Fire Service rushed to the scene after receiving the alert and carried out immediate rescue operations. Several injured passengers were pulled from the damaged bus and transported to nearby medical facilities. Fire Service officials said the condition of at least two injured persons, including the bus driver, was critical.
Srinagar Fire Service station officer Md. Dewan Azad said efforts were underway to identify the injured passengers, adding that further details would be provided once the identification process is completed.
Traffic on the expressway was temporarily disrupted following the collision but later resumed after emergency teams cleared the vehicles from the roadway. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise extreme caution while traveling in foggy conditions to prevent similar accidents.
