Dhaka, Mar 18 (V7N) – As the holy Eid approaches, homebound travelers are filling train stations, bus terminals, and river ports across Dhaka, while authorities report that the journeys are largely smooth and comfortable.

At Kamalapur Railway Station, the crowd of passengers has increased compared to the previous day. Most trains are departing on time, although some passengers are boarding on the roofs of trains despite the ban. Overall, railway officials said the Eid travel experience is proceeding smoothly.

Bus travel has also seen a rise in passenger numbers. Counters at Gabtoli, Mohakhali, and Sayedabad are busy issuing tickets, and traffic pressure has increased on the roads. Road Minister Sheikh Rabiul Alam, who supervised operations at Gabtoli Bus Terminal, stated that no passenger suffering has been reported and that there are no complaints regarding additional fares.

Meanwhile, Sadarghat Launch Terminal has seen increased pressure from homebound travelers heading south. Launch services are operating only when fully occupied, and operators denied any allegations of extra fare charges. Passengers noted that favorable weather has made the river journey more comfortable. Launch traders expect high passenger flow to continue until the night of the Eid moon.

Authorities have taken adequate measures to ensure passenger safety across all transport modes, including rail, road, and waterways, ensuring a smooth Eid journey for travelers.
