Thakurgaon, Jul 03 (V7N) — Local Government Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that true development is not limited to constructing roads and infrastructure but should focus on improving the socio-economic conditions and quality of life of ordinary people.
He made the remarks while inaugurating a solar-powered irrigation pump in Thakurgaon on Friday morning.
The minister said the government is implementing various development projects, including the construction of roads, mosques and madrasas. However, he emphasized that genuine development is achieved only when people directly benefit from these initiatives and experience a better standard of living.
Addressing the country's youth, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir urged them to focus on innovation, entrepreneurship and productive work instead of engaging in rivalry over football teams.
"There is no benefit in arguing over Argentina and Brazil. It will not put food on the table. Young people should instead concentrate on innovation, business and creating opportunities for themselves and others," he said.
The minister also called on banks to provide farmers with loans on easier terms, saying greater access to affordable financing would help boost agricultural productivity and strengthen the rural economy.
