Dhaka, Mar 20 (V7N) – Jamaat Ameer and Opposition Leader Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has criticized the government, alleging severe mismanagement and oppression faced by people traveling home for Eid. He shared his remarks in a post on his verified Facebook page on Friday morning.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman claimed that citizens, eagerly returning home to celebrate Eid with their families, are being subjected to extreme hardship. “On the occasion of Eid, a large number of people from the city wait all year with great expectation and joy to celebrate Eid with their loved ones. Yet they are facing severe oppression,” he wrote.
He accused the government of the worst mismanagement in history, stating that misleading statements about reduced bus fares have aggravated public suffering. “The people have been misled and told that bus owners are charging less fare for Eid travel than normal, which is an extreme lie,” he said, questioning who will acknowledge the sorrow and frustration of the citizens.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman also warned that attempts to establish authoritarian control would not be tolerated. “If anyone wants to establish fascism, bad news for them—the awakened youth and the people will not tolerate it. Those responsible for this disaster will have to bear all responsibilities,” he added.
