Dhaka, Feb 25 (V7N)- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has invited Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to attend an Iftar Mahfil scheduled to be held on Saturday (February 28) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in the capital.

The invitation was formally extended by Jamaat Secretary General Mia Golam Parwar, who met the Prime Minister at the Secretariat on Wednesday morning. Family members of the Prime Minister have also been invited to the event.

PM Shows Interest

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, the Jamaat leader said the Prime Minister expressed interest in participating in the Iftar Mahfil. He also noted that Jamaat intends to play its due role as an opposition party to ensure the continuity of democratic practices.

Inquiry About Jamaat Ameer

During their discussion, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, after learning about the illness of Jamaat Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, spoke to him over the phone and inquired about his health.
