Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) — Opposition leader and Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has said that failing to take the oath of the Constitutional Reform Council amounts to an insult to the July Uprising, warning that his party will not remain silent if the government does not move to implement the July Charter.

He made the remarks on Wednesday morning while participating in a cleanliness drive in front of Manipur School in the 60-feet area of Mirpur.

Speaking to reporters, Shafiqur Rahman said the initiative aims to set an example by cleaning waste for 30 minutes to an hour every day after Fajr prayers, with a goal of turning Mirpur and Kafrul into model areas.

He expressed hope that the government would provide necessary support and funding for such civic initiatives, adding that he would continue the cleanliness campaign daily in Dhaka and replicate it elsewhere when traveling outside the capital.
