Thakurgaon, Feb 13 (V7N) — Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Secretary General of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), has said that the new government is expected to be formed by February 15.

He made the remarks at his residence in Thakurgaon on Friday (February 13).

The newly elected Member of Parliament from Thakurgaon-1 constituency said the party’s decisive victory reflects the love and support of the people. He described BNP as a “party of the people” and claimed that the rise of extremism occurred due to what he termed fascist forces, which led to repression against political parties.

However, he added that Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has performed well from that perspective.

Mirza Fakhrul also said that the commitments outlined in BNP’s July Charter would be implemented gradually and the party’s 31-point agenda would be fulfilled.

He further stated that BNP intends to go to parliament with participation from all parties, emphasizing an inclusive parliamentary approach.
