Feb 12 (V7N) — In a high-stakes appeal as Bangladesh heads to the polls, Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman emphasized that every individual vote carries the weight of the nation’s future trajectory.

The opposition leader, widely viewed as a frontrunner for the prime ministership, shared his message via a verified social media post on Thursday afternoon. He urged the electorate to recognize their role as decisive stakeholders in the country's democratic restoration.

“Your conscious and responsible vote can play a vital role in determining the country's future,” Rahman stated, addressing millions of voters participating in the 13th parliamentary elections.

The BNP Chairman extended his gratitude to those who had already braved the queues to exercise their franchise. He further appealed to citizens who had yet to reach the booths, encouraging them to cast their ballots for their preferred candidates before the designated polling time concludes.

Rahman’s call for a "conscious vote" comes at a critical juncture for Bangladesh, which is holding its first general election since the political upheaval of August 2024. The leader, who recently returned from 17 years of exile, concluded his message with a call for national reconciliation, stating, “Let us all work together to build the country, InshaAllah.”
