Khagrachhari, Feb 09 (V7N)- Ahead of the 13th National Parliament Election, voting equipment has been delivered by helicopter to three of the most remote polling centers in Khagrachhari district.

The equipment reached Dighinala and Lakshmichari upazilas on Monday (February 9) afternoon with the assistance of the Bangladesh Army. The remote polling centers served include:

  • Naraichhari in Dighinala upazila

  • Shuknachhari in Lakshmichari upazila

  • Futyachhari in Lakshmichari upazila

The army conducted the operation in stages. A helicopter first flew from the Lakshmichari army zone helipad to Shuknachhari, followed by transportation of election equipment and manpower to Naraichhari and Futyachhari polling centers.

District Election Officer SM Shahadat Hossain confirmed that election-related staff were also airlifted to ensure smooth preparations at these remote locations.

Khagrachhari parliamentary constituency (No. 298) has a total of 554,113 registered voters, with 203 polling stations across the district. Among these, 68 polling stations have been identified as important due to logistical or security considerations.
