Comilla, Feb 08 (V7N)- Jamaat-e-Islami Naib-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher has alleged that various conspiracies are being hatched to question the credibility of the upcoming national election. He warned that if the election is not acceptable to the people, the future of the country could face serious uncertainty.

He made these remarks while addressing an election rally at Chandakara Sekandar Ali High School ground in Chauddagram upazila of Comilla on Saturday evening (February 7).

Dr. Taher urged the administration and the Election Commission to take all necessary steps to ensure a free, fair, and credible election, saying that public confidence in the electoral process must be protected at any cost.

He stated that the objective of Jamaat-e-Islami and its alliance is to come to power through fair elections and to build a corruption-free Bangladesh. Emphasizing discipline among party activists, he warned against any attempt to illegally take control of polling centers on election day.

The Jamaat leader reiterated that the people of the country want a transparent election and called on all concerned to play a responsible role in safeguarding democracy.
