Dhaka, Jan 29 (V7N) — European Union (EU) Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller paid a courtesy call on Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at the party office in Bashundhara, Dhaka, on Thursday.

The meeting was attended by Political First Secretary Sebastian Rieger-Brown alongside Ambassador Miller. On the Jamaat side, Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Central Propaganda and Media Department Advocate Ehsanul Mahbub Zubair and Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan were present.

During the discussion, the Jamaat Ameer highlighted the EU’s support for Bangladesh’s democratic transition and reform process. The two sides exchanged views on various issues of mutual interest, including the upcoming 13th National Assembly elections and ways to strengthen democracy in the country.

Both parties expressed hope that mutual relations, development, and progress between Bangladesh and the European Union would continue to grow in the future.
