Dhaka, Dec 26 (V7N)- The central member conference of Islami Chhatra Shibir is being held today at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center in the capital, with participation from around 6,500 members.
The conference began at 8:00 am on Friday (December 26) and will elect the organization’s new central president through a direct and secret vote of its members. The top leadership for the coming year will be determined through this voting process.
The conference was inaugurated by the father of Muntasir Alif, who lost his life during the July Revolution. Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman attended the event, along with invited guests from Turkey, Palestine, Malaysia, Pakistan, and several other countries.
According to the organization’s constitution, the newly elected president will later nominate one member as secretary. Several members of the current central committee, including the president, are set to step down as their period of studentship has ended.
Former central leaders of Islami Chhatra Shibir and senior leaders of Jamaat-e-Islami are also present at the member conference.
The event is being viewed as significant for the future direction of the organization, as it prepares to announce its new leadership following the completion of the voting process.
