Dhaka, Dec 10 (V7N)- Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has expressed serious concern over rising attacks on dissent, defamation of women, and the misuse of technology—including artificial intelligence—on social media. He said such trends are highly alarming, particularly when carried out under the guise of religious identity, as it undermines societal and moral values.
Speaking on Wednesday via his verified social media account, the Jamaat Ameer stated, “Political differences do not mean enmity. Islam teaches that a believer should never backbite or curse another person.” He cited the Holy Quran, emphasizing that Allah commands people to speak kindly and avoid ridiculing one another.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman added that addressing disagreements with reason and politeness is a hallmark of a true Muslim, and that abusive language or character assassination should never be used by any Muslim—or any civilized individual.
Concluding his message, he called for maintaining faith and dignity online and reminded people that every word is accountable before Allah. “Let us build society with reason and decency, not hatred,” he said.
