Dhaka, Nov 25 (V7N) – BNP Acting Chairman Tarek Rahman has expressed deep concern and sympathy for families affected by the devastating fire in Dhaka’s Korail slum. In a statement sent to the media on Tuesday night, Rahman conveyed his heartfelt condolences and expressed hope that the affected families would endure this difficult time with patience. The statement was signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
Rahman noted that on Tuesday evening, the fire engulfed Korail slum and surrounding areas, making it extremely difficult for the fire service to control the blaze. While the exact extent of the damage remains unclear, reports indicate that numerous homes have been destroyed.
He also expressed full solidarity with the efforts of fire service personnel and local residents who worked tirelessly to extinguish the flames, describing their dedication as a source of inspiration for the nation. Rahman prayed for the quick containment of the fire and for the safety of lives, appealing to Almighty Allah to protect those at risk.
The BNP leader emphasized the urgent need to support the affected families and called for swift measures to assist in relief and recovery efforts.
