Dhaka, Oct 13 (V7N) — Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has said that if the people make Jamaat victorious in the upcoming national elections, the citizens will no longer remain the owners of the country but will become its servants.

He made the remarks while addressing a roadside meeting in Mirpur-13, Dhaka, on Monday (October 13) night.

The Jamaat chief stated that he envisions a Bangladesh free from discrimination based on religion, caste, or ethnicity, emphasizing his desire to see a united and harmonious nation.

“If Jamaat is given the opportunity to serve the people, all forms of wrongdoing will be stopped. Miscreants will be paralyzed along with the people. Businessmen will conduct business, employees will perform their duties, and no one will dare to overstep their limits,” he said.

Criticizing other political parties, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman remarked, “Before elections, political leaders make big promises, but once in power, they forget everything. They steal public money and smuggle it abroad.”

He urged voters to elect honest and principled candidates in the next national elections, saying that only through moral leadership can the country move forward.
