Dhaka, Oct 01 (V7N) – BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has extended his greetings and felicitations to the Hindu community on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja and Vijaya Dashami. The message was sent to the media on Wednesday (October 1).

In his message, Tarique Rahman highlighted Bangladesh’s long-standing tradition of religious diversity, noting that people of different faiths have been practicing their religions peacefully for generations. He emphasized that religion belongs to everyone, the state belongs to everyone, and everyone has the right to security. He called on law enforcement agencies to remain vigilant to prevent attempts to disturb communal harmony.

He also said that the festival symbolizes mutual friendship, harmony, and brotherhood among different religions, communities, and ethnic groups. The state and constitution, he noted, guarantee the security of every believer, non-believer, or skeptic, irrespective of party affiliation, religion, opinion, or caste.

Tarique Rahman urged the public and authorities to resist any attempt to disrupt social harmony or security, warning that no one can create a situation like the fascist regime around the autumn festival.
