Dhaka, Sep 23 (V7N) – Jamaat-e-Islami has protested against BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, calling his claim that Jamaat pressured BNP for 30 parliamentary seats “untrue, disrespectful, and vindictive.”
The party’s Secretary General Professor Mia Golam Parwar issued the statement on Tuesday, responding to Fakhrul’s recent interview with the Kolkata-based daily Ai Som. Parwar said the statement “has nothing to do with truth and decency” and demanded Fakhrul present evidence for his claim.
He emphasized that Jamaat-e-Islami operates under its core leadership and has no involvement in demanding seats from other parties. Parwar warned that if Fakhrul fails to provide proof, he should accept the truth and express regret publicly.
“The burden of judgment on the contemptuous language he used regarding Jamaat-e-Islami’s politics is left to the people’s court,” the statement added. Parwar also urged political leaders to refrain from making untrue and misleading statements in the future.
