DHAKA, May 20 (V7N) – BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called upon party members to remain vigilant and oppose any conspiracies aimed at undermining the hopes and aspirations of the Bangladeshi people.

Alamgir, currently in Bangkok for medical treatment, made this appeal while virtually presiding over a joint meeting held at the BNP Chairperson's office in Gulshan.

He expressed concern that "the politics of division has started again," and an attempt is being made to create disunity among the populace.

The BNP Secretary General emphasized that the BNP bears a significant responsibility for establishing democracy and rebuilding Bangladesh.

Mirza Fakhrul urged party workers to play a vigilant role in safeguarding the country's independence, sovereignty, and democracy.

He recalled that Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman had initiated a campaign to transform Bangladesh into a prosperous and modern nation.

Following the meeting, the party's Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed announced an 8-day program commemorating the martyrdom anniversary of BNP founder, Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.

BNP Joint Secretaries General Khairul Kabir Khokon, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie, and Abdus Salam Azad, along with Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku and leaders from various party organs and associated bodies, were present at the press conference.
