London, May 20 (V7N) – BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman announced plans to develop ward-based playgrounds across Dhaka city, aiming to create green spaces where children can play and elders can enjoy healthy walks.

Speaking as the chief guest at the award ceremony of the Chotobhai Late Arafat Rahman Coco Memorial Trust Cricket Tournament held at the Millennium Gloucester Hotel in Central London on Monday, Tarique Rahman shared the vision via his verified Facebook account.

He said the plan involves securing three to four bighas of land between every two wards to establish playgrounds. These spaces will serve as recreational areas for children and offer a peaceful environment for the elderly to walk and breathe fresh air.

“This is our idea to improve urban living conditions in Dhaka city by providing much-needed open spaces for the community,” Tarique Rahman said.

The initiative reflects a broader effort to enhance the quality of life in the capital through accessible, local recreational facilities.
