Dhaka, May 18 (V7N) – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has officially joined the ongoing political dialogue with the National Consensus Commission in a bid to build consensus on proposed national reforms. An 11-member delegation of the party, led by Nayeb-e-Ameer Dr. Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, participated in the meeting held at the LD Hall of the National Parliament Building on Sunday morning.
The meeting commenced at 10 AM as part of the Commission’s first-phase discussions with political parties regarding the key recommendations from five national reform commissions. The initiative aims to establish a broad-based political consensus on crucial reform agendas.
The National Consensus Commission had earlier announced this meeting through a press release issued on Saturday (May 17), inviting attention to the ongoing dialogue process.
The Commission’s dialogue with political stakeholders is seen as a critical step toward institutional and democratic reforms in Bangladesh amid growing calls for inclusive governance and political transparency.
