Dhaka, Dec 20, (V7N) - On Friday, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir visited Labaid Specialised Hospital to pay his respects to AF Hassan Ariff, an adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Land, who passed away earlier in the afternoon.
Fakhrul arrived at the hospital around 5:30 PM and met with the grieving family members. He visited the late Ariff’s mortal remains to honor the distinguished adviser’s memory.
Speaking to the media, Fakhrul praised Ariff for his significant contributions, calling him not only a respected lawyer but also a staunch advocate for democracy. He expressed that Ariff’s presence was crucial during this time of democratic transition, emphasizing that the nation had lost a devoted patriot and that his personal loss was deep. "The void left by his passing will be difficult to fill," Fakhrul added.
Ariff, who had been serving as an adviser to the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Land, died at Labaid Specialised Hospital after collapsing at home during lunch. Despite being rushed to the hospital, doctors confirmed his death around 3:10 PM.
Fakhrul concluded his visit by praying for the eternal peace of Ariff’s soul and offering heartfelt condolences to his family.
