Dhaka, Jan 09 (V7N)- Joint forces have arrested a man named Mahbub on charges of attempting to leak question papers of the Primary Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination 2025.

Mahbub was arrested in front of the Public Service Commission (PSC) building in the capital on Thursday afternoon (January 8). Later, around 2:00 am, the army handed him over to Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, police sources confirmed.

According to law enforcement officials, Mahbub was the personal driver of Ali Riaz, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor. Based on information obtained from Mahbub during interrogation, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested another key suspect, Billal Hossain, described as a mastermind of the question-leaking syndicate, from Tangail.

Investigators allege that the group attempted to extort money from job seekers by falsely promising to provide leaked question papers ahead of the recruitment exam. Acting on intelligence inputs, joint forces conducted a raid by posing as buyers, which led to Mahbub’s arrest.

Earlier on Thursday, detectives also arrested two members of an exam fraud ring in Rangpur. During the operation, three mobile phones and several sophisticated digital devices were seized from the suspects.

Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that the written examination for the Primary Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2025 will be held today, Friday (January 9). The exam will take place simultaneously across all districts of the country, except the three hill districts, from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

Law enforcement agencies have reiterated their zero-tolerance stance against any attempt to disrupt public examinations and warned that strict legal action will be taken against those involved in such activities.
