Rajshahi, Aug 22 (V7N) — Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) is set to launch a fully automated website for international-standard journal submission, peer review and the assignment of Digital Object Identifier (DOI) numbers.

RUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr S M Abdur Razzaq will formally inaugurate the website at 3pm on Sunday, Aug 23. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain will attend the event as a special guest.

Developed entirely by RUET’s own personnel, the new platform will allow researchers and students from anywhere in the world to submit research papers and journal manuscripts online, undergo the review process digitally and receive DOI numbers without relying on manual procedures.

The website has been developed under the supervision of Professor Dr Abdul Khaleque, Director of the Office of Research and Extension, with support from Professor Dr Md Samiul Habib, Director of the ICT Cell. Assistant Programmer Engineer Md Monirul Islam developed the platform.

The system will be introduced for the Journal of Engineering and Applied Science (JEAS), published under RUET’s Office of Research and Extension. According to the university, DOI assignment was not available for journal submissions up to Volume 9. The system has now been introduced from Volume 10 onwards.

The new platform is expected to streamline the journal’s submission and review process, improve transparency and reduce dependence on manual procedures, while making the publication process more accessible to researchers worldwide.

The inauguration ceremony will be chaired by Professor Dr Abdul Khaleque.

Among those attending will be Professor Dr Md Emdadul Haque, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell; Professor Dr Md Rabiul Islam Sarker, Director of the Student Welfare Office; Professor Dr Md Mahmud Sazzad of the Department of Civil Engineering; Professor Dr Md Al-Amin-Al-Azadul Islam of the Department of Chemistry; Professor Dr Md Kamal Hossain of the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Professor Dr Alal Hossain of the Department of Mathematics; Professor Dr Md Abdul Wakil of the Department of Urban and Regional Planning; Professor Dr Md Sajib Uddin of the Department of Mechanical Engineering; Professor Dr Sayla Ahmed of the Department of Humanities; Professor Dr Md Samiul Habib, Director of the ICT Cell; and Assistant Programmer Engineer Md Monirul Islam.
