KUSHTIA, Jan 18 (V7N) — Islamic University (IU) Tarunno organized a winter clothes distribution program on Saturday at the TSCC corridor of Islamic University, aiming to support people suffering from severe cold.

According to the organization, blankets, bedsheets and pairs of socks were distributed among 180 cold-affected families. The initiative was taken as part of Tarunno’s ongoing humanitarian efforts to assist underprivileged people during the winter season.

The program was attended by Islamic University Student Adviser Professor Dr. Md. Obaidul Islam, former General Secretary of IU Tarunno for the 2024–2025 session Fabiha Busra, former Co-President Mizanur Rahman, current President Mursalin Islam Tusar and General Secretary Istiak Ahmed Hime.

Speaking at the event, Professor Dr. Md. Obaidul Islam praised the initiative and said that the humanitarian activities carried out by the members of IU Tarunno alongside their academic pursuits were highly commendable. He expressed hope that such social welfare programs would continue in the future, contributing positively to society and inspiring students to engage in community service.

Organizers said the program was arranged to stand by vulnerable people during the harsh winter and reaffirmed their commitment to continuing similar initiatives in the days ahead.
