Dhaka, Aug 23 (V7N) – Expressing cautious optimism about student organizations, Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan said that organizing the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections is challenging under any circumstances. He warned, however, that if anyone obstructs the elections, he will resign and hold the responsible parties accountable.
He made the remarks at a discussion marking Dhaka University's Black Day on Saturday.
The Vice Chancellor highlighted that the nation is closely watching the DUCSU elections. Efforts are being made to ensure a fair and conducive environment for voting, under the guidance of the Election Commission. Discussions have also been held with all relevant stakeholders.
Dr. Khan further emphasized Dhaka University’s historical role as a bastion of resistance against injustice. He called on all stakeholders, including the armed forces, to cooperate and uphold the integrity of the election process.
