Pabna, Sept 23 (V7N) – The Pabna district unit of the Jubo Dal, the youth wing of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), held a protest march and rally on Tuesday against what it described as planned acts of violence aimed at destabilising the country.
The programme was organised as part of a nationwide central party initiative. The procession began around noon from the Pabna district BNP office, with Jubo Dal leaders and activists marching through major streets of the city before returning to the party office, where they held a protest rally.
Among those who addressed the rally were Pabna district BNP joint conveners Anisur Haque Babu and Abu Obaida Sheikh Tuhin, district Jubo Dal convener Elias Ahmed Himel Rana and member secretary Monir Ahmed, along with other leaders and activists from the district and upazila levels.
Speakers alleged that attempts were being made to create violence and disorder in the country with the aim of undermining stability.
They called on people to remain united against any attempt to create unrest and urged all political groups to maintain peace and discipline and ensure an environment of political coexistence.
The programme was attended by leaders and activists of the Jubo Dal from different levels of the district. The nationwide protest programme was announced by the BNP and its affiliated organisations as part of their response to what the party describes as attempts to create instability.
