Habiganj, July 25 (V7N) – Habiganj-4 constituency lawmaker Syed Mohammad Faisal held a dialogue with grassroots leaders and activists of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) in Madhabpur to strengthen the party’s organisational activities, recognise grassroots opinions and ensure greater involvement of party members in local development initiatives.

The meeting was held on Friday afternoon at Hotel Highway Inn in Madhabpur, with a large number of leaders and activists from the upazila, municipality, 11 union-level BNP units, and affiliated organisations attending.

During the discussion, grassroots leaders highlighted various local issues, development needs, organisational challenges and public expectations before the lawmaker.

The meeting was chaired by Madhabpur Upazila BNP President Shamsul Islam Kamal.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, MP Syed Mohammad Faisal said BNP is a party of the people and grassroots activists are its main strength.

"Your opinions, suggestions and sacrifices are the foundation of the party’s progress. We must work together to fulfil the expectations of the people," he said.

The lawmaker said he was making every effort to implement the commitments made during the election campaign. He added that the government is working to improve education, healthcare, communication infrastructure and employment opportunities in Madhabpur and Chunarughat.

He urged party leaders and activists to ensure that no one is neglected and called on them to avoid activities that could damage the party’s image.

"Personal interests should not come before public welfare. I have stood beside grassroots activists in the past and will continue to do so in the future," he said.

Speaking as a special guest, former Habiganj District BNP President and former Upazila Chairman Syed Mohammad Shahjahan said the strength of BNP lies in its grassroots organisation.

"Everyone must remain united and work together to make the party stronger. We should not be influenced by rumours or conspiracies but continue working to gain public confidence," he said.

Madhabpur Upazila BNP General Secretary Hamidur Rahman Hamdu said the party in Madhabpur remains united and is working alongside the people.

He said regular programmes would be organised at union and ward levels to further strengthen party activities and urged leaders and activists to maintain mutual respect while implementing party decisions.

During the meeting, leaders from different levels of BNP and its affiliated organisations also spoke, calling for stronger organisational activities, quick solutions to local problems and greater public participation in development initiatives.

At the end of the meeting, party leaders and activists pledged to work together to make BNP’s organisational activities more dynamic and people-oriented.
