RAJSHAHI, July 22, (V7N)– At the initiative of the Divisional Office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), a mobile court was conducted in the city today, fining Rahat Enterprise Tk 10,000 for selling foreign chocolates and lozenges without BSTI quality certification and clearance, and for bringing them in illegally without valid import.
In addition, special monitoring was conducted at M/s Nayan Petroleum Agency and M/s Afrin Filling Station in the Talaimari area to stop illegal stockpiling of petrol, octane, and diesel, prevent rumours, and ensure correct weight and measurement.
The mobile court was led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate Farhana Hossain, with Engineer Junaid Ahmed, Officer of the Certification Marks Wing of BSTI Divisional Office, acting as prosecutor. Members of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police were present at the time.
BSTI authorities said such drives in Rajshahi will continue regularly in the public interest to prevent adulteration and ensure the supply of quality food products.
