Jhalakathi , 17 JULY (V7N) - The discovery of the body of a housewife wrapped in a sack in the TNT Road area of Jhalokati town has created a huge sensation. Police recovered the body from a rented house in the TNT Road area of the city at around 8:30 pm on Friday (July 17). Law enforcement agencies are initially suspecting it to be a murder.
The deceased housewife is named as Molina Roy (45). She was the wife of Ratan Roy and lived as a tenant on the ground floor of Tapan Halder's house in TNT Road area.
According to local sources, Molina Roy's family members were out of the house to participate in the Rath Yatra festival held in Kirtipasha Union. When they returned home at night after the festival, they found Molina Roy's frozen body wrapped in a sack inside the house. Later, the matter was reported to Jhalokati Sadar Police Station, and the police quickly reached the spot and recovered the body.
Police said that based on initial evidence at the scene and the condition of the body, it is believed that the miscreants strangled him to death and left the body in a bag. However, the real cause of death can be confirmed after receiving the autopsy report.
The body was taken to Jhalokati Sadar Hospital at around 8:20 pm. It was later sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Jhalakathi Sadar Police Station said that an investigation has been launched to unravel the mystery of the incident, determine the cause of the murder, and identify and arrest the people involved. Various evidence has been collected from the scene and people in the vicinity are being questioned.
